Hello campers, it's that time of year again, when snowdrops are in bloom and we're starting to think about the F word (festivals). We're kicking off the season with the return of WOOD, set in the beautiful surroundings of Braziers Park, Oxfordshire, on May 15th /16th/ 17th 2009. We wanted to start again and create a new kind of music event, powered by bicycles, wood-burning stoves and the sun.
The aim of this festival WOOD is to celebrate music and nature....and that's why it's called WOOD. Clever hey?
WOOD runs entirely on renewable energy and aims to highlight green issues and hopefully promote an ecologically friendly lifestyle. We've composting toilets, showers heated by wood-burning stove and a solar-powered stage and dancing into the night in a bicycle powered 'disotheque'.
Tickets are on sale from today, and as last year, kids go FREE (under 14 accompanied by an adult) so WOOD is a perfect family weekend. There will be opportunities for everyone (from children to grandparents!) to participate, with workshops covering singing, woodcraft, making wallets from orange juice cartons, and everything in-between. This year we are introducing an area for talks and debates, a children's tent and people-powered fairground rides, amongst many other new treats.
Don't worry we've not forgotten about the music, we've got SPIERS & BODEN, MEIC STEVENS, PO' GIRL, JIM MORAY, DANNY THE CHAMP, STORNOWAY, JONQUIL and CO-PILGRIM with many more about to be confirmed.
