The case for this tour does not depend on nostalgia, although nostalgia will sell most of the tickets. The case is that both bands still write songs that mean something. Rise Against’s recent records have been the angriest they have sounded in fifteen years. Alkaline Trio’s last LP was the most melodically generous of their late period. The two records sit next to each other on a shelf without apologizing.

Tim McIlrath has always sung like he was trying to be heard from the next neighborhood. Matt Skiba has always sung like he was trying to be heard from inside a basement. Together, on the same stage, that contrast becomes the actual show. You do not need to pick a side.

This is a true co-headline, which means the running order will rotate by city. Check the marquee before you walk in late, because the band you came for might be playing first.

US dates run through the autumn. No festival appearances attached yet. Tickets through standard outlets; presales via fan clubs and whatever rock radio stations still exist in your market.
